VANCOUVER – The BC Liberal Party today launched a television and online campaign highlighting Adrian Dix’s economic record in the 1990s and calling for accountability for his current tax-and-spend promises.
“Adrian Dix was a top advisor to the government in the 1990s when British Columbia’s economy went from first in Canada to worst in Canada,” said Langley MLA Mary Polak. “Today he is promising more of the same – and refusing to come clean on how he will pay for billions in new spending.”
The ad campaign notes that Dix played a key role in the 1990s when personal income taxes were 60 per cent higher for a family of four earning $60,000 per year. When Dix and the NDP were in office the province was dead last in job growth among Canadian provinces.
“As our government prepares a fiscally prudent budget, Dix travels the province making billions in new spending promises. It’s time for him to stop hiding behind his political makeover and come clean,” says Polak.
